2nd Annual Race for Grace Charity 5k Run/Walk to be held in Hattiesburg

This is the 2nd annual Race for Grace 5k run/walk and 1 mile fun run. This year's Race for Grace will be a fundraising event hosted by Grace International World Outreach (http://www.giwo.org/index.html), a missionary organization dedicated to reaching the unreached. All proceeds will go towards opening a home for abused and homeless children in Kalibo, Aklan Philippines.

Members of the Ellisville Rotary Club were treated with a visit from glass artist John Whitt, who shared the techniques used in making lead stain glass panels during their weekly meeting, August 6.

Merchant Park Girls Fastpitch Softball Fall League sign-ups will be held August 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the girls new concession stand at Merchant Park in Ellisville.

LCJ 14 Year-Old Dixie Boys Baseball heading to World Series

Laurel Jones County 14 Year-Old Dixie Boys Baseball State Champs are going to Covington,GA August 4-8 to represent Jones County and Mississippi in the 2012 World Series.

The team is hoping to receive donations and fund raising before they leave to help off set the cost of the trip.

The money is used strictly for the players. If anyone can or would like to help the team, they can do so at any Community Bank: WORLD SERIES FUND or call Kelly Jackson at 601-498-4733.
