Jones County Junior College is offering a 100-hour non-credit Certified Nurse Assistant class.  The Nurse Aide Training or CNA class is designed to give students the knowledge and skills to pass the State Certified Nursing Assistant Exam.

Your family or friends may be the first to notice a hearing problem, especially if it has developed gradually, over a period of years. Individuals with hearing loss cannot enjoy life. Many will not participate in social activities because of the issue. South Central Regional Medical Center will host a free Hearing Assessment on Nov. 14 at South Central Place in Laurel.

Spirit of Women to present “Girl Talk:” Local Physician To Unravel Mysteries Of Adolescence

Girls ages eight through 11 are invited to attend the upcoming session of “Girl Talk,” presented by Forrest General’s Spirit of Women, to learn about the physical and emotional changes that happen during adolescence.

During the event, Katherine P. Alexis, M.D., Hattiesburg Clinic family practice physician, will talk with young girls about what they can expect as they enter their teenage years and help unravel the mysteries of the changes that those years bring.
