The Jones County Junior College student practical nurses assisted South Central Regional Medical Center administer flu shots during its employee health fair recently.  Under the watchful eyes of LPN instructors Diane Henderson and Helena Gunnell, JCJC students had the opportunity to boost their shot giving skills. Residents at the Jones County Rest Home were also a part of this community service and hands on training for students.

More than 15 million Americans suffer with painful osteoarthritis of the knee, which often affects their quality of life.  A FREE community seminar will be held on November 13 to offer information about MAKOplasty, a Partial Knee Resurfacing procedure that can help relieve the pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee. The seminar will be held on November 13 from 6 – 7 p.m. at The Orthopedic Institute. Hattiesburg Clinic board-certified orthopedic surgeon Raymond Whitehead, M.D.
