The Leaf Foundation announces the availability of applications for its official Miss America preliminary pageants, to be held at 7 p.m. on August 2, 2013 at The Historic Saenger Theater in Downtown Hattiesburg. This is the 10th anniversary of The Miss Leaf River Valley Pageant.

Dancers needed for 2013 World Series Opening Ceremonies

The following is a news release from the City of Laurel:

Dancers, both male and female, are needed for the 2013 Dixie Youth World Series Opening Ceremonies field show, hosted by the City of Laurel on August 2. 

Dancers must be between the ages of 12 -18. Registration will be held on May 11 from 10 a.m -1 p.m. at Dance Arts Studio in Ellisville. For more information contact Lora Davis at 601-580-3400.

All performers will receive their information packets and rehearsal schedules at registration!

This is your last chance to see the improv magic of the Stage Monkeys, April 25 at 7 p.m. at Joesph Green Hall room 115 on the University of Southern Mississippi's campus.
 

We're going to observe Agana Day, the holiday dedicated to the great Mr. Agana. We'll be up to all our usual comedic improv tricks, so bring your witty suggestions to shout to us.

A fundraiser for Sydney Holifield will be held on April 27 at the old Myrick school 4 way stop, Lower Myrick Road from 9 a.m. til 2 p.m. Smokehouse chicken plates $10 in advance, Silent Auction, baked goods, space jumps, face painting, selling raffle tickets for a Benelli 12 gauge shotgun $5 each, Entertainment by Centertree band (Kevin Price), Kristie and Sam Sumrall, Bob Barger, Alex Landrum and Mr. Silly Socks. Handpainted door hangers for sale and homemade lollipop stand.

Central Sunbelt is putting together an evening of entertainment on April 20, hosted by Great Southern Oaks House and Garden in Hattiesburg Mississippi, in efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

We are looking for sponsorships to help us make this evening as successful and fruitful as possible to benefit those in need of cancer treatment.
