When you’re experiencing a health care emergency, the last thing you want to do is wait. Emergency medicine is about three things: compassion, skilled care and speed. Wesley Medical Center knows the importance of prompt service – especially in the emergency room.

“That’s why Wesley Medical Center is launching a 45-Minute ER Service Pledge – to assure patients that we are dedicated not only to offering quality care, but also to providing that care as efficiently as possible,” said Mike Neuendorf, Wesley Medical Center CEO.

The Diabetes Center at Wesley Medical Center Earns AADE Diabetes Education Program Accreditation

The Diabetes Center at Wesley Medical Center was recently named an accredited diabetes education program by the American Association of Diabetes Educators. This will allow residents in and around Hattiesburg increased access to critical diabetes education services.

“For people diagnosed with diabetes, one of the greatest challenges is learning how to manage their disease,” said Hannah Thompson, Diabetes Center Coordinator. “We’re working to make sure they have a source for good information about how to do that.”

Wesley Medical Center recently named Lore Chambliss, R.N., the winner of the Barbara Hayman Nurse of the Year Award. Chambliss, who has been with Wesley Medical Center for 30 years, was nominated by her supervisors for the award based on her outstanding work in patient care.

Wesley Medical Center proudly names Ann Dungan as the 2011 Employee of the Year. Dungan is a registered nurse who joined Wesley in May of 1990.

Wesley Medical Center Introduces Hospitalists Dr. Marc S. Demyun

Marc S. Demyun, M.D., has accepted a position as Program Director of the newly developed hospitalist program at Wesley Medical Center. 

Dr. Demyun, an Internal Medicine physician, has been with Wesley Medical Center since 2005. He earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland / Ross University, in Baltimore, MD and studied Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY.

Wesley Medical Center recognized with Patient Safety Award

Wesley Medical Center has been recognized with the Outstanding Patient Safety Award from Community Health Systems, one of the nation’s leading systems of general acute-care hospitals.  The organization includes Wesley Medical Center and more than 130 other hospitals in 29 states. 

Presented at the organization’s Chief of Staff annual meeting, William Farmer, DO, President Elect of the Wesley Medical Center Medical Executive Committee, accepted the award on behalf of the hospital.
