The following is a message from St. Elmo Missionary Baptist Church:

The Saint Elmo Missionary Baptist Church Family would like to invite each of you to our Annual Black History Program that will be held on Feb. 24 at 5 p.m.

The National and our theme for 2013 is “At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: The Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington” Acts 22:28b. The speaker for this grand occasion will be Councilman Trey Chinn.

Please wear your African attire. Refreshments will be served.

South Jones High School’s showchoir, Company, came away from the Mississippi Showchoir Contest as Grand Champion.

The group also took home the awards for best visual performance and best vocal performance during the contest hosted Feb. 1 and 2 at William Carey University by the choral department of Pearl River Community College.

The public is invited to this free event.
