The Long Family 94th Annual Reunion

You are invited to attend the Descendants of Rev. William Preston Long and Adeline Melinda Harris Long on May 20, for the 94rd Annual Reunion.

It will be held at the Moselle Community Center in Moselle at 9:30 am. Rev. Long was a Methodist Circuit Rider in Covington, Smith, Jasper, Kemper, Lauderdale, and Jones counties.

W.O.W. - Worship on Wednesday at Life Church in Laurel will be, May 16 at 7 p.m.

Wednesday Night Meal will be at the Higher Grounds Coffee Shop. Plates will consist of grilled chicken, rice pilaf, green beans, a roll, and tea. $8 per plate.

PRCC graduates hear praise, advice from lieutenant governor

The following is a press release from Pearl River Community College:

Family and friends packed the Forrest County Multi Purpose Center, May 15, to see 525 students become graduates of Pearl River Community College.

The graduates received associate’s degrees or certificates of proficiency from Dr. William Lewis, PRCC president, who reminded them their education has not come to an end.

“Please do not forget that education is a life-long process,” he said.

Come downtown June 16 (the Saturday before Father's Day) for Laurel Main Street's annual car show!

Laurel Ford’s Crusin’ Main Street is an annual car show that showcases a variety of automobiles from all over the region. You are invited to bring your family to downtown Laurel this Father’s Day Weekend and see cars in many categories including truck, antique, classic, muscle, modern, custom, foreign, rat and commercial. Registration is $15 per car before June 8 and $20 per car thereafter.

Moselle accident victims remembered

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM)- Family and friends gathered at the site of an accident that killed two adults and three children on Highway 11 in Moselle in May of 2011.

The five were killed when the Suburban they were in left the road, crashed into a utility pole and landed in a creek bed.

Killed in the accident were Joanie Martin, 27, Bruce Myrick, 26, Timothy Milam, 7, Haley Sumrall, 5, and Tommy Myrick, 6. Myrick's wife Janet was critically injured in the accident and spent several weeks in the hospital.
